2017 Holiday Train Schedule
Again this Christmas season, North Dakota communities will welcome a visit by the Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train. The glimmering Holiday Train, illuminated in entirety by Christmas lights, is a transcontinental, charitable, and Christmas time community service of CP. The train travels along routes in Canada and the United States between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
In each community where the Holiday Train stops, CP employees greet welcoming crowds and local charity representatives. Donations of food and money are collected from local people by CP employees, and these donations are turned over to local charitable outlets. CP also makes a valuable donation to local charities.
When the Holiday Train arrives in a community, a train car is opened, and entertainment from the train’s traveling band begins. North Dakota communities will be entertained by Canadian music stars Terri Clark, Dallas Smith and Kelly Prescott. Santa Claus also emerges to greet visitors. After about 45 minutes in a community, the Holiday Train moves on.
