Support North Dakota’s electrification project in rural Guatemala
You can help bring the gift of electricity to a remote village in Guatemala. The North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives is collecting donations through NRECA International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. After a team of volunteer North Dakota lineworkers build power lines to the village, donations will help provide electric hot plates for local families.
Electric hot plates will promote cleaner cooking practices and reduce the risk of injury and illness associated with open-flame cooking. A donation of $40 provides one hot plate for a village kitchen. Any additional funds raised will support educational resources for the local school and help offset travel costs for North Dakota’s volunteer lineworkers.
